Oil Boiler Maintenance, Cleaning and servicing

Fully Certified Maintenance of Oil and Regular boilers

Why Annual Servicing Matters

Oil boilers work hard — especially in rural Norfolk where they're often the sole source of heat and hot water. Unlike gas boilers in towns and cities, there's no grid fallback if your oil system fails. An annual service is the single best thing you can do to keep your heating reliable, efficient, and safe all year round.

Save Money on Heating Oil

A boiler that hasn't been serviced gradually loses efficiency — it burns more oil to produce the same amount of heat. A clean, well-tuned burner can make a measurable difference to your oil consumption, which matters when you're filling a 1,000-litre tank at a time.

Catch Problems Before They Become Expensive

Small faults — a worn nozzle, a cracked seal, a build-up of soot — are cheap to fix during a service. Left unchecked, those same faults can cause a full breakdown or damage other parts of the system. An annual visit pays for itself

Keep Your Warranty Valid

Most oil boiler manufacturers — including Grant — require evidence of annual servicing to honour their warranty. Miss a year and you could find yourself footing the full bill for a repair that should have been covered.

Stay Safe

Oil boilers that aren't properly maintained can develop dangerous faults including flue leaks and incomplete combustion. A thorough annual service checks all safety-critical components and gives you peace of mind heading into winter.

Extend the Life of Your Boiler

A well-maintained oil boiler can last 15–20 years or more. Neglected systems rarely make it that far. Regular servicing is the difference between getting full value from your investment and facing an early replacement.

Grant Boiler Fitted in Martham, North Norfolk

This Martham homeowner had been relying on an ageing Worcester Bosch oil boiler that had become neglected and was well past its best. We replaced it with a new Grant Vortex oil boiler — a reliable, efficient upgrade that will serve the household for years to come.

The installation was fully commissioned and registered, with an extended manufacturer's warranty supplied as standard. This is a customer we've worked with on several occasions, which reflects the kind of long-term relationship we aim to build with every household we work with across Norfolk.

Grant External Oil Boiler Installation — Stalham, Norfolk

For this Norfolk homeowner, indoor space was at a premium — so a Grant external system boiler was the perfect solution. Mounted on the outside wall, it frees up valuable room inside while delivering all the performance of a full-sized oil-fired heating system.

As part of the installation, the existing hot water setup was fully upgraded to an unvented horizontal cylinder fitted in the loft. This means the household now benefits from mains-pressure hot water throughout — a significant improvement in both comfort and efficiency over a traditional vented system.

All work was fully commissioned and registered, with extended manufacturer's warranty supplied as standard.

Grant Vortex Pro XS Combi — Stalham, Norfolk Broads

When this Stalham customer's boiler cracked and began leaking onto the kitchen floor, it needed urgent attention. We installed a new Grant Vortex Pro XS combi boiler into a tight utility space — a compact and efficient solution that made the most of the available room.

Due to the layout of the property, a plume management kit was fitted externally to safely direct flue gases away from an adjacent walkway. Full building regulations sign-off was completed and an extended warranty registered on completion — so the customer has complete peace of mind going forward.

HRM Wallstar External Boiler Replacement - Ludham, Norfolk

Sometimes the best place for a boiler is outside. For this Ludham, (near Horning, North Norfolk) property, an HRM Wallstar external unit was fitted to replace an early 1990s boiler that had reached the end of its life — freeing up space indoors while delivering a significant step up in efficiency and reliability.

Modern external oil boilers are far better insulated than older models and well suited to our wonderful Norfolk climate ;-) This customer wanted a future-proofed system built to last, and that's exactly what we delivered.

Grant Vortex Oil Boiler Replacement — Sutton, Norfolk

This job involved removing an old Trianco boiler that had gone well beyond economic repair and replacing it with a new Grant Vortex, neatly fitted into the footprint of the existing unit. A tidy, efficient swap with minimal disruption to the property not too far from Sea Palling, On the Norfolk Coast.

The system also connects to a thermal store that is partially heated via solar hot water — a setup we were able to work around and fully commission. As always, extended warranty was registered on completion.

How often should an oil boiler be serviced?
